giving blood

070402_usfl_blood.jpgI did my good deed for the week on Monday, making my 39th blood donation!

Every donation consists of one pint so I was curious to find out what that equated to in gallons. That’s almost 5 gallons I’ve donated, so far! Crazy! Anyway, I’ve always encouraged my friends to donate blood whenever they can.  There are few opportunities in life where you can regularly make a difference in another person’s life and giving blood is a surefire way to know that you are making a difference!  And I hear it’s supposed to be good for you, too!  Something about blood regeneration, I think . . .

Donating blood is easy! It’s relatively painless (like a pin prick) and it feels good to know that you’re helping somebody in need. The American Red Cross is a good place to start when seeking a blood center near you!

. . . it’s all about good karma! . . .

  1. You’re like me! I haven’t donated quite that much but do it every few months or so. They ALWYAS ask me if I weigh enough and that’s the ONLY time I’ll round up my weight…so I can donate. Do you have those permanent little dents in your arms from needle pricks? I do. My bf says my arm looks like that of a druggie. Kudos for donating!
