Here are a few shots I shot recently for Allison’s new Comp Cards. Comp Cards (or, ZED Cards as some people call them) are cards used by print models – kind of like a resume. The card showcases different “looks” as well as the model’s clothing sizes, height, etc.

I do these sessions from time to time and I really enjoy them – especially when I get to work with a seasoned pro like Allie!

She’s got more personality at her young age than most people have in their little finger! And what an awesome person, too! Not only is she a great student, but she’s initiated a recycling program for her class at school! And what did she want for her birthday? Most girls want dolls, toys, a puppy . . . Allie asked for an ‘environmentally conscious’ bedroom – bamboo floors and the works!!! This kid ROCKS!

Another busy week begins . . . I can’t believe it’s already August!  I’m bracing myself for the premature onslaught of Christmas commercials which should begin to arrive in, oh, say about a month!

This past week I wrapped-up a portrait documentary session with a little guy named Kai!  Hard to believe he’s only six months old!  I love photographing kids because you’re practically guaranteed to get about 100 different expressions within an hour.  These are a few of his more “introspective” shots from our session! 

Oh, and on a completely separate subject – two enthusiastic thumbs-up on the Fox scale for the new Transformers movie!  Saw it this past weekend.  Really cool pic!

A couple of nights ago I took my godson, Parker and his best friend, Tyler to see our hometown Orlando Magic play (and lose to) the Detroit Pistons. I really didn’t care much who won but it was a great trip for Parker – he’s a big Pistons fan! Wow, the Pistons are really good – they ended up sweeping the Magic!

Yeah, Parker was happy! His godfather was happy because he got to have a soft pretzel and funnel cake! Oh, and I’ve got to give Parker some credit – he was all decked out in his Pistons jersey amongst a sea of Magic blue – he was one of maybe 50 Pistons fans in the crowd of 18,000+. And, of course I had my speech prepared if anybody were to question if I was with the kid in the opposing team’s uniform . . . “I’m with the Big Brothers program and I just met this kid today” was my first choice . . . option #2: “he spilled Kool-Aid on his Magic jersey so we had to pick-up this jersey on the way to the game – the store was all out of Magic jerseys” . . .

Fortunately, neither was required . . .

Last night I had an awesome dinner at my friends’ house. And they have two daughters whom I love, but we weren’t at the dinner table for 15 seconds when the oldest daughter (who is nine years old, mind you) starts to talk trash to me! She’s telling me how bad she’s going to beat me at Air Hockey . . . how I’ll be lucky to score even one point! . . . that I’ll go home crawling with my tail between my legs!

So, I do what any self-respecting adult male should do if confronted by this flagrant display of bravado . . . I had no choice but to dish it back! Yep, I told her it was “on” and that she might want to quickly adapt a more humble approach to life. And then, just when I thought she might reconsider her stance and show some restraint what does she do? She starts to throw dollar figures at me – says the bet is $10!
So, I established my position and laid the money out on the table (I took out a loan from her six-year old little sister) – and she leaves to changes clothes! Do Air Hockey uniforms actually exist? Apparently so. And she must have stretched for something like 20 minutes. Was I intimidated? Okay, maybe just a little bit . . .

We played two games and split them one each. Good thing because I didn’t want her Girl Scout thugs coming after me. I’ve attached a couple of pictures of the younger, painfully shy sister, too . . .

The lesson I took from this experience – never try to match trash-talking with a nine-year old girl! Well, any girl for that matter. Oh, and refrain from taking loans from a 6-year old girl, regardless of how adorable they might be . . . they never pay up.

Moving . . . does anybody really like to move? I suppose I don’t mind it when somebody else is doing it for me, but unfortunately this weekend that is not the case. I am excited to get into my new place, though. Pictures will be on their way once I’m settled!

Yesterday was nice! I received a very welcome break from moving. I got to see my sister, bro-in-law, nephew, and his son, Brady! We celebrated Brady’s 2nd birthday! Yep, the big . . . uh . . . “2″? Inevitably I always end up exhausted after Brady leaves. Not because I’ve been chasing him around but because I get to watch his dad chase him around! How can I put it in visual terms . . . ok, next time you see a bird in a tree, startle it! Then, once it takes flight, chase it and don’t let it out of your site! Yeah, now you’re getting the picture.

Anyway, I’m not 100% sure but I think Brady really enjoys cake! Either that or he’s hoping to be discovered by the clown academy. Oh, and we discovered that he likes to wear my college football helmet, too, but only for a few seconds at a time. Maybe it has something to do with the fact the helmet weighs almost as much as he does?
